Pharmacokinetics
Tesamorelin, or TH9507, is a synthetic peptide with the molecular formula C221H366N72O67S and it’s an analog of the growth hormone releasing factor (GRF) peptide [1]. With 44 amino acids in its sequence, it acts on pituitary cells to stimulate growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) secretion. It’s been found to influence insulin resistance and fat metabolism owing to this action, leading to better weight loss results. The breakdown of fat Tesamorelin has been shown to induce anabolic effects that accelerate weight loss [2].
Scientific Studies
Tesamorelin has a half-life of between 26 to 38 minutes, though daily dosing over time is shown to demonstrate results within two weeks [3]. In a study on older individuals with Alzhiemer’s and dementia symptoms, tesamorelin was shown to improve memory function [4]. Tesamorelin has effectively reduced stomach fat in HIV patients with lipodystrophy caused by antiviral treatment [2].
